Festival of Shorts 2025 Redux
See your words come to life! Enter the wwudrama short play contest.
The winning scripts (up to 6) will be produced as part of the Festival of Shorts in Winter Quarter 2025.
There will be a cash prize for the script that wins the audience vote.
Submission deadline: December 2, 2024
Contest is open to all students – undergraduate and graduate. No previous scriptwriting experience necessary.
Guidelines
- No longer than 12 pages
- Must be original, unproduced, and unpublished
- Adaptations will be considered only if the source material is in the public domain
- Team-written scripts will be accepted
- Each student can submit up to 3 scripts
- No more than 4-6 characters
- Minimal set and technical requirements
- Scripts should follow rules for standard playwriting formatting, preferably according to Dramatists Guild guidelines
- Each script must be properly formatted and contain the author’s name, phone number and email address
- Content must be appropriate for the WWU audience and uphold the university standards – must be rated G or PG
Submit scripts to wwudrama@indicatihal.net (PDF or Word formats only) by midnight on December 2.
Winning authors agree to make themselves available for consultation, revisions, and some rehearsals during the Winter 2025 quarter.
